A recent trend in the Thai community is to take a box of Koala March biscuits (as pictured above) and shake them until they've all been mixed together. Typically, these little biscuits are koala-shaped but after the vigorous shaking, they take on a slightly different form. Let's watch a video in Thai of someone who's done this to two flavours of Koala March. Listen closely and see how much you can pick up on the first few viewings.
This conversational Thai can still be quite tricky. To help you get through everything that's said, here's the written script with translation and transliteration so you can follow on. Words in square brackets have been added for easier understanding.

Vocabulary
Although this is seems like some basic conversation, it still has plenty of new words that we can pick up on. There's also some slang in here as well as some NE Thai (Isaan) words. Here are the main bits of vocabulary:
เขย่า (ka-yaao): to shake something
ชม (chom): to admire, to praise
ผลงาน (pon-ngaan): result
รสชาติ (rot-chaat): flavour
สังเกต (sang-geet): to observe
แทะ (tae): to open some packaging [See Notes]
กล่อง (glawng): box
เปิง (bpeerng): to be damaged, to be destroyed [See Notes]

กริ๊บ (grip): sound effect signifying a wink
ผลสำเร็จ (pon sam-ret): successful
NOTES:
- แทะ is slang for the proper Thai word, แกะ, which means to carefully open a box, envelope or any other sort of packaging. I've been told this comes from the Isaan dialect.
- เปิง is another slang word meaning that something is broken, damaged or destroyed. I was told this also comes from the Isaan dialect.
- ตูด generally means the backside or bum. In this case, the guy in the video says ด้านตูด which means the bottom of the box.
- น้องๆหนูๆ is the collective phrase for a large group of young children. It's made up of two words, น้อง which means younger sibling and หนู the casual way to refer to a small child.
- ใช้ได้ has two meanings in Thai. First, if someone asks you about something and you think it's merely alright, you can say ใช้ได้ to mean "It's OK." Second, if you're attempting to do something (like in the video), ใช้ได้ means that everything's going well and the outcome is what you wanted.
- โอโห is a verbal expression made when you're surprised or pleased at something. It has no meaning in itself and is merely a sound made to signify these emotions.
- While เศษ generally means 'waste' or 'scraps', it can also refer to things that are leftover from a project. In this case, there are small pieces of Koala March still in the bag even after the biscuits have stuck together.
- ฮ่ะ is an alternative version of ครับ when you don't want to be too formal but still want to remain polite.
So there we have it! This was a very long lesson today. It's amazing how much you can get from one short video clip. I also hope that makes up for my absence for the past two weeks. I've been sick plus this lesson was rather difficult to make especially with the slang. I'll get back on schedule next week though with some more lessons!
