Hi! As the title of this blog suggests, I'm a white guy. I'm also currently living in Thailand. In fact, I've been here for over five years now picking up the Thai language. Sometimes, this has been quite difficult. The tones, the different levels of formality, and the various dialects all combine to make Thai a complicated web of words, vowels and sounds. Because of this, I figured that I'd sit down and create a blog going over some tricks and techniques I've come across in my studies. Hopefully this'll help you to learn the language a little faster.
As well as trying to get my head around Thai pronunciation, vocab and grammar, I also enjoy my life in Thailand as a whole. There's so much to love about this country as long as you look past its faults. As one of my friends here said, "Living in Thailand is like facing a wave. Struggle against it and you're going to get knocked over. Just dive in and you'll come out with a smile on your face." I'm going to try and show some of the eccentricities of the country in this blog too. Of course, I'll give you some Thai language tips as well so that you can learn and have fun at the same time.
I hope you enjoy this blog and everything that I have to offer through this website! May we both continue to develop our language skills and grow to understand Thailand a little bit more each day.
